mr lee treated ben ang, xuan yuan and i to lunch at crystal jade restaurant at junction 8 yesterday. we had wanted to go to the food court at j8 for a simple meal, but i think ben commented the food was disgusting there, so mr lee suggested other alternatives. he asked us if we would mind japanese food, and suggested sakae sushi, but xuan yuan said he didn't like japanese food, so mr lee brought us to the signboard at j8 to choose from a whole list of restaurants / eating places. mr lee's finger pointed (i think randomly) to "crystal jade cakery and don't know what" and asked us for our opinions, which prompted a shocked reaction from xuan yuan, "huh? that's a chinese RESTAURANT!" (in chinese). but mr lee surprisingly said "never mind larhz, let's go!"

at the entrance, he looked at dishes on the menu, while we looked in awe at the prices of the dishes. he just said, "there's rice and vegetables, so we can eat here!" and brought us in ... wow ... he proceeded to order lots of nice dishes ranging from roasted duck, chicken and pork to tofu, vegetables, and even nice dim sum and dessert ... anyone could tell that we were feeling a bit uncomfortable having him treat us to such a pricey meal, but he urged us not to worry about it and to eat as much as we could. Thank you, Mr Lee! :)

today, the hype surrounding the newspaper article issue seemed to become more subdued, and the teacher in question looked cheerful, in fact, all of us could tell she was almost trying too hard to show that she was cheerful, but then again, anybody in her shoes would have found it difficult trying to look unaffected by the situation she was in. let's just hope tomorrow's class party at yi-xun's house would not be blemished by the effects that this incident has on the teacher.
