just came back from the third farewell party i've attended over three consecutive days, first ripb, then 4Q, and today, rico. mr lee officially announced that he'll be leaving ri for victoria school next year, ie, from tomorrow onwards, though he had already confirmed his departure some six months ago. back then, he chose not to tell us because he did not want the news to affect our spirits and performance in syf, and when the december combined concert came up, he had to wait until after the concert before telling us. but i think this news did not really come as a surprise because all along here and there he had been dropping hints about his departure to ben ang and i, but ben ang claimed he did not really catch those hints.

mr lee is one teacher we all really respect. he helps his members with their chinese schoolwork, he really cares for us, he works his head off for rico ... i dun think rico will be the same without him anymore. not in terms of standard or anything, but the environment will be very different. just hope the committee can make those adjustments, especially with our new tic.

in his farewell speech, mr lee mentioned something about how in his two, short years in charge of rico, he only had the opportunity to do very little, that is, to communicate our situation to the school admin and the headmaster. i think he definitely did an excellent job in this aspect, but really, without anyone saying, he has done a lot more than just that.

b4 leaving the co room today, it struck me again that this day is officially the last day i'll be in ri, and rico. i was saying my casual goodbyes b4 i stepped out of the door, then suddenly i turned back on some impulse, and stayed for a while longer b4 leaving again. sigh ... mebbe it doesn't help to be sentimental coz the feeling sux sometimes. leon later asked me outside why i was so sentimental and i just said, "dunno, i'm always like that". but this feeling sux, and it'll linger for some time ...
