its been 4 days after the rjco concert and i've finally decided to post something about it. but before i begin i have to say that these 4 days have felt very weird to me because all of a sudden the stress associated with the concert preparation got removed, and i guess you can say i am feeling too slack for comfort. erm ...

anyway the concert went pretty well even with the several glitches that comes with all amateur and even professional orchestras' concerts. we mixed around with our co mates more than usual during the concert day and the day before during full-dress rehearsal. those were times when i thought we came closer to the warmness we experienced in rico, and i just hope the orchestra can build on that.

just before the concert started i was out on the second floor, and i saw so many people i knew, even seniors from ri batch of 1999, my teachers, friends and relatives. a big thank you to all who came down to support us in our concert! took one photo with yls before trooping backstage to get ready to make our appearance on stage for the opening item. the atmosphere backstage was quite relaxed, or at least i felt that way. met kk and lj during the interval, and they gave ben and i a stalk of flower each ... so sweet of them haha thanks!

second half was also quite good, and so far in all the people i've spoken to, none of them had noticed my minor mistake during the erhu qi zou, so as long as it did not affect the overall presentation, i'm fine with it. the encore item was pretty lame. we were supposed to play the final section of dong hai yu ge, the victorious part leading to the climax. the worst thing was, somehow i wasn't at the briefing or rosin got into my ears at that time and i absolutely had no idea as to what we were going to play for encore. luckily for me, on stage just before zls made his appearance for dong hai yu ge, i asked mingyan and after expressing her shock she pointed out to me the part that we were supposed to play. so there, a close shave for me ...

after the concert, we took group photos, cleared up and returned to school ... should have taken more photos ... dang ...

oh on a seperate note, on the day after the concert at ORA, as we were clearing up, my physics tutor mr lee told me that his friend sitting next to him during the concert had feedback for me. his friend is an erhu teacher and he advised me to adjust my rouxian style coz apparently i used hou4 or chi2 dao4 rouxian too frequently. yep so i'll be more aware of my rouxian from now on ... thanks mr lee!
